From a series of events which highlighted ecological destruction and climate change called The Telling, to our DoncoCrawl art walks which brought 100s of people into town on a Tuesday night, we have sought to create DIY, grassroots events which use nationally and internationally significant artists such as the muralist Phlegm and Bellowhead’s Jon Boden to help support and put a spotlight on our own amazing local talent, who are all too often ignored.

We always work collectively and we seek to maximise the impact of whatever we do so that it benefits as many creatives as possible. Art and culture does not exist in a vacuum, it is nothing without collaboration. We must create an ecology of creativity, and collaborative projects and events are key to making this happen

To remain as independent as possible Doncopolitan tries to be as self-sufficient as possible, relying on advertising and generous donations to stay afloat.
